Choreographer · Director
About

I build a production as a dramaturgy of action: music shapes time, movement reveals the human being.

Ivan Kuznetsov is a choreographer and director, Chief Choreographer of the Rostov State Musical Theatre. He creates large-scale narrative ballets and chamber works in which classical training meets contemporary stage thinking.
For him, a production begins not with a vocabulary of steps but with the inner necessity of a character. This leads to an emphasis on the dramatic nature of dance, musical form, and precise stage architecture.

In practice
“Movement should not decorate the story. It should become the story itself.”
